Passed down through four generations over more than 100 years, the hand-crafted chile sauce at the heart of Chile del Abuelo is a testament to tradition, love, and the flavors of home.
It all started with David Luna's mother, Hipolita, from Durango, Mexico, perfected chile sauce recipes that became the soul of every family meal. Growing up, David (affectionately now known as Abuelo) sat at her side, watching her work, learning her secrets, and falling in love with every rich, smoky, complex bite. When the time came, she passed the recipe to him, which he in turn would pass down to his grandsons: Dylan and Daniel.
