Our Story

With deep roots stemming from Durango, Mexico, Chile del Abuelo sauce is a hand-crafted family recipe that spans over 100 years and across 4 generations of the Luna Family.
As a child, David Luna (now, Abuelo) grew up eating his mother's chile sauce and fondly recalls his father needing the sauce with every meal. He would eventually learn the recipe from his mother, and for years, David would make it at home for his family and for any who requested a jar!
To ensure the family recipe thrived and tradition continued, his grandsons partnered with him to bring Chile del Abuelo to all who enjoy a great chile/ hot sauce! 

 

 

Chile del Abuelo is family-owned and operated in North East Los Angeles.
